Responsible Lending Policy
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for a loan, applicants must:

Have a valid South African ID or an acceptable legal document permitting them to enter into a credit agreement in South Africa.

Have an active South African bank account in the applicant's own name.

Provide a valid cellphone number and email address (where applicable).

Reside in South Africa.

Consent to affordability, identity, fraud prevention, and credit bureau assessments.
Meeting these minimum requirements does not guarantee loan approval.
Documents Required
Applicants may be requested to submit:

Latest payslips or proof of income.

Latest 3 months' bank statements.

Proof of residence (where required).

Employment confirmation (where applicable).

Pension confirmation (for pensioners).

Driver earnings statements (for gig economy drivers such as Uber, Bolt, MRD, Checkers Sixty60, Takealot, etc., where applicable).

Any additional documentation reasonably required to complete the assessment.
Submitting fraudulent or altered documents will result in immediate rejection and may be reported to the relevant authorities.
Affordability Assessment
The National Credit Act requires every registered credit provider to determine whether a loan is affordable before granting credit.

Reasons an Application May Be Declined

To protect our customers, we use various fraud prevention measures, including:

No Obligation to Grant Credit
ImaliYakho is under no legal obligation to approve every application.
Credit is granted solely at the discretion of ImaliYakho after completion of all assessments required by law and our internal responsible lending policies.
